Dr. Kaufman is the author of numerous articles and book chapters on Mohs micrographic surgery and facial reconstruction. He is a consultant reviewer of the scientific publication Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and consultant reviewer and contributing editor of Dermatologic Surgery. He has been interviewed for articles that have appeared in many publications.
