About the Festival:
Folklore in the water had its origin in the late 60s, by the hand of a handful of enthusiastic neighbors who proudly promoted and much love of their land.
The "bug" Ferreyra, a follower and fan of everything folk, always wanted to share that taste with his friends and introduce all those who were interested in the same thing, so it began to hold meetings in his house back in the 40s, founding the Peña "El Ceibo", which he monthly toured the house of the group of friends. The interest grew so much that "Don Bicho" builds the "Jirón Gaucho" ranch; Illustrious witness of long meetings with, those that would be the following decades, the highest exponents and referents of the history of national folklore, such as Don Atahualpa Yupanqui, the kegasy keg, the chalchaleros, the Tucu-Tucu, Horacio Guarany, the Visconti, among others.

First they thought about the square (such as the Cosquín Festival), but they dismissed him thinking about the discomforts that could cause the neighbors. They traveled to the river and right there that place, the next morning, on October 12, 1968, they were already placing the stakes marking the precise space.
During the intention of Mr. Emilio Acevedo, a municipal tourism commission was formed, with the objective of underpinning the effervescence and thrust of the neighbors excited about the idea of having the first festival.
The doubts related to the economic aspects were clear when the firm Lucchesi Hnos. He offered the economic endorsement for the event, which allowed the first edition to finally be completed in January 1969, in a scenario nestled on the Xanaes River.
The lyrics, music, native dance and song as a whole, excited young people, who are fervor became excellent cultivators of the different disciplines, holding an uninterrupted story of more than four decades of our beloved festival.
From its origin as a town, through its consolidation as a city and reaching our times, Villa del Rosario honors the ties of friendship and solidarity facing each community challenge, trusting in the strength that each neighbor can contribute, convinced that the common good is the main tool that exists to travel the path of the history of Córdoba and Argentina.
